Be A Builder

Our desire is to walk beside the next generation of builders and inspire them to carry on the tradition of “Being a Builder”…. but… the term builder is a different definition and standard than might initially come to mind.

Traditionally, being a builder means being a “craftsman” but a true builder shows greater qualities that go beyond physically building structures. They also immolate the values that define the pride of ‘being a builder’ and will enhance our communities indefinitely by building:

trust | consensus | relationships | teams | faith | discipline | confidence

Our true purpose and legacy are created not just with the buildings we build, but with the individuals with whom we shared our knowledge, with our teammates, and with the people that use the building after construction is completed – many of whom we will never meet.

  • Schools will allow teachers to build knowledge,
  • Medical facilities will allow doctors to build health,
  • Houses will allow people to build families,
  • Churches will allow worshippers to build faith.

The culture of building has been inspired by those who have come before us and will be carried on by future generations.  Ultimately, our purpose is to enrich the lives of all of the people that touch the building industry.

“At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”

― Maya Angelou

I would encourage you to be a builder, seek out those future builders and mentor them through the early years and tough times.  Be hard on them, challenge them to be better, and instill in them the mindset and culture of being a builder.

The buildings we build will stand as reflection of our career. But what we all do for the people around us will forever stand the test of time and will truly create a sustainable culture of continue to improve the building industry.
